Hougang Primary School is a government primary school located at Hougang, Singapore. It was founded in 2000[1] when it was placed in a temporary site along Yio Chu Kang Road while the new school building was under construction. That time, it took in its first batch of students from Primary 1 to Primary 3 only, where this batch of P2-3 students were transferred from other schools. It moved to the new school building located at Hougang St 93 in 2001 where it recruited its second batch of students. It stands directly opposite Hougang Secondary School.

The school's fifth prize-giving ceremony was held on the 19 November 2004 and the guest-of-honour was Superintendent of the N3 Cluster, Teo Lian Geok.
During the prize-giving ceremony the school’s time capsule was sealed by the Superintendent of the N3 Cluster, Miss Teo Lian Geok.The time capsule contains memorabilia such as photographs, examination papers, photographs and articles from the early years marking the foundation of Hougang Primary School and it will be opened at the 50th Anniversary in 2050.
